How it works

A simple space to pause, reflect and look at things differently

Digital Derek gives you a private place to check in with what’s on your mind and choose the kind of perspective that feels useful in the moment.

You can use Today for a deeper personalised reflection, What’s the Craic? for a lighter card-led perspective, explore practical Resources including worksheets, exercises and videos in your own time, or discover member Events and experiences with Derek.

Today, What’s the Craic? and the reflective Resources are shaped by Derek’s approved knowledge, experience and distinctive way of looking at life, while Events give members opportunities to engage with Derek’s wider work and experiences.

The membership

Four ways to use Digital Derek

Personalised reflection

Today

Share what’s on your mind using text or voice. Digital Derek looks at what you’ve shared alongside Derek’s approved knowledge and relevant previous reflections, then gives you a personalised response designed to help you slow things down and see the situation from another angle.

Card-led perspective

What’s the Craic?

Tell Digital Derek what’s going on and two cards are drawn from Derek’s original 60-card What’s the Craic? deck. The cards are not predictions or answers. They provide prompts for another perspective, combined with Derek’s humour, knowledge and practical way of looking at life.

Worksheets, exercises & videos

Resources

Use practical member-only worksheets, exercises and videos when you want something to explore or work through in your own time. Resources are designed to complement reflection, not replace professional support.

Member events

Events

Access selected workshops, events and experiences with Derek. Individual events may include member benefits such as discounted or free access where offered.

How Today works

1

Check in your way

Start with whatever feels relevant.

You can choose how you’re feeling, what’s on your mind and what kind of support might help, or simply tell Digital Derek what’s going on in your own words.

You can type or use voice input.

There is no right or wrong way to check in, and you do not have to wait until something is wrong. Positive days, ordinary days, uncertainty, curiosity and moments of reflection are all valid.

2

Digital Derek looks at what you’ve shared

Digital Derek considers your check-in and looks for relevant ideas, experiences and teachings from Derek’s approved knowledge.

The aim is not to give you a generic AI answer, but to respond from material that reflects Derek’s way of thinking, his practical approach and the themes he has explored over many years.

3

Receive your reflection

Your response is designed to help you slow things down and see the situation from another angle.

A reflection may acknowledge what you are experiencing, offer Derek’s perspective, suggest something practical to consider and leave you with a final thought or affirmation.

It is there to support reflection, not to tell you what you must do.

Acknowledgement

Your situation is recognised in a calm, human way.

Perspective

Derek’s way of looking at life is brought to bear.

Something practical

A thought or suggestion you can take away.

A final thought

A closing reflection or affirmation to sit with.

4

Build continuity over time

Your completed reflections are saved in your private journal so you can return to them later.

As you continue to use Today, relevant previous Today reflections can help provide continuity and reduce unnecessary repetition.

The aim is for the experience to become more useful over time, while still letting each new check-in stand on its own.

You can also review your history whenever you want from your member account.

Card-led perspective

How What’s the Craic? works

1

Tell Digital Derek what’s on your mind

Use text or voice to share whatever you want another perspective on.

2

Two cards are drawn

Digital Derek checks that the situation is suitable for the lighter What’s the Craic? format, then draws two contextually relevant cards from Derek’s original 60-card deck.

3

Get Derek’s perspective

Digital Derek combines what you shared, the two cards and Derek’s approved knowledge to give you a shorter, more playful perspective and one question to sit with.

Each What’s the Craic? reading stands on its own and does not use your previous reflections or earlier Craic readings.

What’s the Craic? is for perspective, not prediction. If what you share is especially serious or sensitive, Digital Derek may suggest taking it to Today instead.

Member tools

Practical Resources

Sometimes reflection is only the starting point.

Members also have access to practical worksheets, exercises and videos they can use privately in their own time, helping them explore ideas, organise their thoughts and turn insight into something useful.

Member experiences

Events with Derek

Digital Derek membership also gives you access to selected workshops, events and experiences with Derek.

Some events may include member-only benefits such as discounted or free access. Current opportunities are shown inside the member area, together with the relevant booking details and any member benefit available for that event.

Why Digital Derek?

Derek’s perspective, not a generic chatbot

Digital Derek uses AI, but that is only the technology behind the experience.

What makes it different is the material it has been built around: Derek’s approved teachings, stories, reflections, experiences, humour and way of approaching people and situations.

It isn’t a generic AI assistant given Derek’s name and personality.

The aim is to give you access to a perspective shaped by Derek, while still leaving you in control of your own choices.

AI + Spiritual Intelligence

Technology can process information. Perspective gives it meaning.

Artificial intelligence can help connect information, recognise themes and respond to what you share.

Spiritual Intelligence asks different questions: What does this mean to me? What am I noticing? What can I learn from this? What choice feels right?

Digital Derek brings those two ideas together.

AI provides the technology. Derek provides the perspective.

What Digital Derek does not do

Digital Derek is designed to support reflection and perspective.

It does not:

  • predict your future
  • replace Derek in a live one-to-one conversation
  • make decisions for you
  • tell you what you must do
  • replace medical, therapeutic, legal or financial professional support

Where something needs specialist or urgent support, the right next step is to seek appropriate professional help. See our Help & Support Resources for trusted options.

Use it when life is difficult, or when it isn’t

Digital Derek can be useful when you are dealing with work, relationships, family, money, purpose, health and wellbeing, spirituality, uncertainty or difficult choices.

It can also be useful when life is going well and you simply want to reflect, notice what is changing or think about where you are heading next.

You do not have to be in crisis to benefit from a little space to think.

Designed to fit into everyday life

Digital Derek is designed to work simply on your phone, tablet or computer.

You can type or speak your check-in, read your reflection, draw a What’s the Craic? reading, explore Resources, watch a video, see what member Events are available, return to your Journal and come back whenever you need another perspective.
